Romme Alpin

The Resort

Romme Alpin Ski Centre is a family run resort situated a ten minute coach ride from the town of Borlange. Borlange is a large town with restaurants, shops cinemas, a bowling alley and water park.

The Skiing
The ski season in Romme Alpin starts in early December and again goes through to after the Easter Holidays.

There are a total of 23 slopes including snow boarding facilities with four new slopes opening in 2008. In addition, a second express ski lift taking 6 at a time is also opening this year. The slopes are amongst the most popular in Sweden as they are easily reachable from Stockholm and its suburbs.

The issuing of ski equipment is one of the slickest in Europe and the owner proudly boasts that it can be done in less than 20 seconds per person! The resort is ideal for beginners through to the more experienced skier and has the most snow guns of any resort in Sweden and is therefore deemed to be snow guaranteed.

The slopes have their own restaurant and café facilities that provide excellent food ranging from three course lunches to hot dogs.

Accomodation

Accommodation for this resort is at the Active Stay Hotel in the nearby town of Borlange. This is an outstanding facility that caters specifically for school groups.

The accommodation is twin, three and four bedded rooms, all with en suite facilities and 13 channel TVs. The Hotel boasts a gymnasium and two giant saunas with wide screen TV.

The hotel offers full board and is situated a short walk away from Borlange town centre. Each morning, a coach will collect your group and drive you to the slopes, a short distance away for your full days skiing

Après Ski

Romme Alpin has a wonderful restaurant facility at the top of the mountain and offers the opportunity for an evening ride up the slope in Swedish Army snowmobile to enjoy a fondue evening for you and your students.

The hotel in Borlange is run by a team of highly qualified winter sport enthusiasts who are able to offer ice skating, ice fishing as well as igloo building for their guests!

The hotel has the facilities for watching DVDs and holding quiz evenings as well as the opportunity to meet local students from the schools in Borlange for a disco evening. Winter nature walks can also be arranged.

The town of Borlange has numerous facilities that would be suitable for UK schools.
